My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bonnie !

No, this is not a new breed of dog but a fantastic cat that needs to find her new forever family! She is a wonderful example of what teamwork can take place when volunteers get together! Her rescuer tells us, "Bonnie was dumped in horrible condition with the worst eye ulcers we have ever seen. After trying to resolve this with ophthalmic ointments it was clear that her condition was beyond this being able to help.

Throughout all of this Bonnie remained sweet & loving, purring when petted even though she was in incredible pain.

Eventually it seemed as though Bonnie would need to have surgery to remove both eyes, a procedure which was very much a last resort to save her life & also one that was going to be very expensive. Some wonderful volunteers pulled together & we collected donations in order for her to have this done.

On the day of her surgery the doctors evaluated her again & decided to try one last thing. A specialist procedure called a grid keratotomy was performed this also required her third eyelids to be sutured closed in order for healing to take place. After two long weeks Bonnie went for a recheck & everyone was very happy to realize this procedure had been successful & she would not need to lose her eyes. What great news!

Bonnie will always have scarring on her eyes & she can only see partially but animals do amazingly well in these circumstances, she will obviously need to be an indoor cat for her own safety.

Bonnie is a true survivor & is simply a joy to be around she will make someone a wonderful companion. She should be fine around other cats once they have got acquainted & should also be just fine with dogs & respectful children."

If you would like to meet Bonnie, find out more information or consider her for adoption she is available through Another Chance Animal Rescue.
