Jax's Story...
Hello my fine friends. My name is Jax and I am a goofy but very, VERY sweet 5 year old Golden Retriever mix. My family did not have time for me so they took me to a shelter. The shelter world was not my scene and I was really scared. They asked AGK to take me and off I went. WAHOO. Did I tell you that I am a healthy boy, and I do require to go to a home with another dog because I feel more like myself when they are around. I am laid back too but I do like to play and I do like long walks and playtime. Oh, and I am in a foster home with a cat too and they seem pretty cool tome. So if you are looking for a sweet, fine looking boy, ask for me, Jax!

If interested adopting in Jax, visit our website at http://www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org/new_england.html. If all that looks good, please move forward and fill out an application.

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jax, a Salem Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
