THE RAILROAD PUPPIES. Four puppies were found abandoned at a railroad crossing in central Texas. Dehydrated, starving and full of parasites. We immediately took them to the vet where they were tested and vaccinated. Luckily they did not have parvo or distemper. Just scared and hungry.
UPDATE 7.22.14 -- These precious babies just get cuter and sweeter by the day! Every vet and lab tech has commented on the dogs' personality and temperament. These pups are extremely smart and anxious to please. They love attention and being cuddled and love playing tug with their siblings. We are working on house training and the pups are doing well. DERMOT is beyond adorable. He is going to be larger than the other two pups judging by his feet!! DERMOT is a true gentleman, rarely opting for the first spot to get treats, etc. He has a marvelous, laid back personality and will let you hold him like a human baby!!
Everyone loves a puppy. And you tend to be prejudiced that your puppy(ies) are the most wonderful. But I must say after 15+ years in rescue, these pups are exceptional. They are very laid back, are learning commands quickly, and cuddle more than most puppies I've ever had. This morning I sat with them in their play yard and one by one they came up to me for me to pick them up and hold them. They were rocked, cuddled, kissed, without ever squirming or wanting to get down. Whoever adopts one of these beautiful puppies is in for a treat.
The pups have had 3 puppy vaccinations, Bordetella and Rabies. They will have one more puppy vaccination and that will be all the vaccinations they need for one year.
