My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Suzy! This sweet and loving Shepherd mix was born around October of 2011. Suzy’s tail does not stop wagging, even if you glance in her direction it starts going full speed again and her whole body joins the wiggle. She is a pretty laid back girl and prefers to lounge around on the couch most of the day. She is always fishing for more pets and has found she is quite fond of being a lap dog. At 31 kgs and 21” at the shoulder she is the perfect size for a long snuggle on the couch or a long walk, preferably at the dog park.

Suzy was pretty meek and mild the first few days. She is working on building her confidence, but it is growing rapidly every day. Suzy has settled into the home life and is learning new people and places are not that scary. Suzy is house trained, crate trained and walks well on the leash. She has excellent recall and she also loves car rides! Suzy gets along great with other dogs, big and small and is also good with cats. She is gentle, sweet and eager to please. If you are looking for a laid back dog to add to your family, consider this pretty lady!

Suzy does have an old fracture near her right elbow that does limit her range of motion. She has been seen by a specialist and there is no treatment or surgery that can be done. She will always have a slight limp but it does not affect her quality of life. Low impact exercise and glucosamine and Omega-3 fatty acid supplements will also help her!
