My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who really knows what breed Darryl is? But we'd be willing to bet that there's some teddy bear in the mix. This sweet oaf of a dog has a huge heart to match his large size. He connects quickly with people and will shower you with kisses, lean in for a rub-down, and, if allowed, try to find a way to squeeze his cuddly frame onto your lap. Have time to offer a nice belly scratch? Darryl will happily reward you with a view of his white underside, coupled with a tongue-lolling smile and a look of pure adoration and ecstasy.

Our affectionate hunk has already managed to woo a new canine girlfriend at the shelter. He and our resident strawberry blonde, Sweets, are quite the playful couple to behold. And Darryl has interacted nicely with some of the shelter's other female dogs as well. He's sure got the moves - adorable play bows and loose wags - to try to entice the ladies into a bout of play!

But the true apples of Darryl's eyes are people. Darryl is super eager to please and gives great eye contact, often looking to his volunteer handler for guidance and direction and responding well to verbal commands and corrections. He is very food-motivated (and will take a treat gently from your hand) and fun to train. In fact, Darryl is already doing well in BAD RAP training classes, where he shows off his tricks (sit, down, proximity work, leash skills, etc.). This boy definitely gives a great "sit and look!" He would love to continue his training with a forever family, and his BAD RAP training classes come free with his adoption from BACS (see details below).

We believe that Darryl could thrive in the right home that provides him the structure, mental stimulation, exercise and love that he so deserves. Come meet Darryl today and find out why our handsome boy will make a wonderful and doting companion!
