My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Lily, but my foster daddy calls me “Dora the Explorer”. He says that’s because I’m curious about
everything!! If you open up a closet, I am looking and sniffing it all over. Bring me to a new house; I will be busy
for at least an hour checking into every nook and cranny. I love being in the big yard my foster family has and I
can explore all over for hours. I really love my foster mommy and follow her everywhere. I miss her when she
leaves the house and I cry for a little while, but I’m getting used to her going as she’s comes and goes a lot! I
also really enjoy playing with toys. I like to play tug, and I playfully growl as I pull it from you. While I like to play, I
am not always looking for a playmate. Most often I am quite content just lying beside my foster mommy. I like
sitting in her lap, but will only do so if she picks me up or invites me. Otherwise, I am content sitting in the
chair all by myself. Often she brushes/combs me, and I don’t mind that at all. I really like going for walks too!
Me, and my foster sisters, go out for a walk twice a day. Kitties are good to sniff for a little bit, but they aren’t all
that interesting to me, unless they are hiding under a car and I become “Dora the Explorer” on an adventure to
get-the-kitty when we’re walking. I get along well with other dogs too, but I don’t really like to share my foster
mommy and get jealous. I like sleeping in the bed with my foster family, usually cuddled up right next to my
foster mom. My foster mommy also takes me and my foster sisters, to work with her a lot. I bark sometimes
when people come in, but then I calm down and just lay in my doggie bed until the day is done. I would love to
be the center of attention as an only dog, or another nice dog is fine, too. I am 6 years old. I came into rescue
after my elderly owner passed away and I was set loose as a stray. Boy, it sure was scary being out there on my
own! Fortunately I was brought to a shelter and they contacted Bare Paws. I am such a happy, loving little girl
and so thankful to be cared for and loved again. Would you like to love and care for me forever? I'm waiting!
(Lily is being fostered in FL)
