SHASTA's Story...
Shasta is a very cute 2 - 3 year old female Border Collie / Spaniel Mix. She is black and white with a shaved coat at the moment which will medium in length when it grows out. She weighs about 35 lbs. Shasta came to us from the Hesperia Shelter where she was the apple of one of the employees’ eye. She would have loved to have kept her, but her husband said she could not have another dog. As no one appeared to be interested in adopting this cutie, her time was up at the shelter and she risked being euthanized. BCIN was contacted and we gladly welcomed her into our rescue program.
We are still getting to know Shasta better, so please watch for updates on her. Shasta is well socialized with other dogs and loves to play. She is affectionate and appears to have an even temperament. She walks well on a leash, and appears to be crate trained.
We believe that Shasta will be a good candidate as a family dog once she is fully evaluated.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SHASTA, a San Pedro Border Collie/Spaniel (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Spaniel (Unknown Type) for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie/Spaniel (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Spaniel (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Border Collie/Spaniel (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
