My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How does a guy this handsome end up in a rescue? Good question.

A young couple noticed a neighbor who had 2 black labs that were kept outside all the time. Feeling for these 2 labs, the couple approached the neighbor and asked if they could take care of them...ownership was granted on the spot.

Howie and his brother Sammy were brought into a loving, safe home. All was well, than unforeseen circumstances put the couple in a position to make a heart breaking decision...give up the dogs they called family.
They contacted our rescue and we were happy to help out.

Howie is fostered with 2 other black labs, one male and one female and everyone gets along great. Howie had heartworm but has a clean bill of health and ready to enjoy a life of running and playing. Howie is a laid-back guy who enjoys your company. He is what we call a Velcro dog. He is excellent in the car, walks like a champ on a leash and with the pack, good with children and other dogs and has a very easy temperament.
Howie has separation anxiety. The foster Mom can be outside cutting grass, planting flowers and Howie is as content as a clam relaxing with the other labs. Howie is content just knowing you are around somewhere even if he doesn't see you.
Howie's foster Mom is working with Howie's separation anxiety and everyday there is a little more improvement that he makes.
Routine, patience and consistency is bringing Howie to a plateau where he is accepting being crated and relaxed.
Howie is blk lab, 5 yrs old, 64 pounds, UTD on vaccinations, neutered, housebroken and micro chipped. If you are interested in meeting Howie, please call Chris at 586 563 4127 or email: homes4angels@yahoo.com
