My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Tilly" is an adorable, healthy 15-wk old purebred GSD puppy (born 2-17-14) who is playful, outgoing and friendly. Tilly is a confident pup with no signs of fear or aggression. She plays well w/the 4-yo male GSD she lives with. Tilly hasn't been around cats yet but she's young enough to get used to them. She weighed about 20 lbs as of June 6.

Tilly is nearly housetrained already. She eats and sleeps inside, and "holds it" throughout the night. She learns quickly and already knows the command "sit." She enjoys riding in a car and rides well without any whining or sickness.
Tilly has received her first distemper/parvo vaccination, and is due for two more, with the next one scheduled for June 19. She has been dewormed as well.

Tilly's owners took her from a farmer in Hamilton City (north of Chico) in late May who was giving away the pups. However, the reality of taking on the financial responsibility of another dog has set in, and Tilly's owners realize that they are not in a good position to care for a second dog. (Tilly's owners adopted a male GSD from GSRSV in March 2012.) They contacted GSRSV for assistance in finding Tilly a new home.

Tilly has yet to be spayed, and should probably not be spayed until she's around 6
months old. Tilly's adoption fee ($300) will include the cost of having her spayed at the Sacramento SPCA's spay/neuter clinic. If the SSPCA spay/neuter clinic is too far from Tilly's adopter's home, GSRSV will reimburse the adopter the amount that it would cost to have Tilly spayed at the SSPCA clinic ($60-70 dollars, depending on Tilly's weight at the time of her spay surgery). In addition to Tilly's adoption fee, there is a $200 spay deposit, to be refunded once Tilly is spayed.

GSRSV is placing Tilly as a "Program Dog." This means that GSRSV is placing Tilly through its adoption program while her owners continue to care for her. Tilly is located in Chico, CA.
