Shelby's Story...
"Who's the super-cute and fun little gal at the El Cajon Animal Shelter? Why, it's me, SHELBY. I'm a cheerful and lovable one-year-old terrier mix, and I truly have a zest for life. I can be a bit shy at first, but I'll get comfortable with a new person pretty quickly. I'll be a cherished member of the family, and I'd do best in a home where the kids are older and considerate of me. I love to romp around the nice play yard that they have here, especially if there are other dogs who'll play with me. I'm pretty active, so I think we could have lots of fun going on walks together, and maybe we could even go to the dog park. The shelter staff isn't sure yet if I've been house trained, but I'm young and eager to learn all kinds of new things. Please head on over to the shelter just as soon as you can so we can get better acquainted. Just ask the helpful staff here if we can go out to the play yard. I think you'll find that I'm the special friend that you've been looking for. Love, Shelby" Kennel #28

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shelby, a El Cajon Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
