Elmo's Story...
Elmo is about 18 month old. We do not believe he was well socialized as a puppy. He is timid but is very sweet and does not nip or bite and is a quiet little guy. He does fine around other dogs and will often follow their when trying to figure out what he should do next. He will need a patient family who is OK with his shyness and will give him the time to get comfortable and blossom into the amazing little guy he becoming.
Elmo's medical care will be completed this week and he will be available for adoption 6/14/2014

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elmo, a Ridgway Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Ridgway, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Ridgway.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ridgway already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ridgway breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ridgway paves the way for another one to be saved.
