Boomer's Story...
Meet Boomer! An approximately 4 year old Lap Dog Extraordinaire... don't let the size of this boy fool you, at 117 lbs, he can figure out a way to fit into any lap, and melt your heart just as quick. If you are looking for the Saint that wants to cuddle and give you hugs this is your boy. Just one look into those big brown soulful eyes, he will have you under his spell..

His foster families have worked diligently with teaching him the basics, walking on loose leash, sit, stay, down, etc. He is getting very good at most of it. He is a bit of a slow learner when it comes to yummies left out on the counter tops; but in his own way I guess you could say that he is doing his part in the family to make sure that no food goes to waste. After all, we DID tell him that he is a few pounds under weight.

He gets along well with other dogs, small and large. He has playful curiosity with small furry critters such as bunnies and rats, at the eye clinic he saw a kitty in a carrier and didn't react, but he has not had a face to face meeting.

Boomer is a very special boy that will need to be in an equally special home. When he came to us, we thought that he had an eye infection. We have had him seen by a specialist that has diagnosed him with a treatable eye condition, but it will require simple daily cleansing treatment and medicated eye drops for the rest of his life. He is very cooperative with having his eyes cleaned, and getting his medicine, after all... it is just more special time that he gets to spend with the humans that he loves.

Boomer is being fostered in Salinas, CA where all his meet and greets will take place. If you are interested in adopting Boomer, please fill out and submit an adoption application from our web site at www.sunnysaints.org and you will be contacted shortly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boomer, a Bellflower St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
