Q-Tip's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.

Q-Tip's Story...
Q-Tip is a handsome, friendly and sweet six-year-old Maltese looking for a loving guardian. Q-Tip lived with a family with 12 and 13-year-old children and one other male dog, a Schnoodle. They walked into their groomer’s parlor one day and said they didn’t want their dogs any more. The groomer offered to find the dogs a new home. Q-Tip is looking for a family that will spend time with him to train, exercise and love him. He dances for treats, but is pretty stubborn and willful for such a small and utterly adorable dog. Q-Tip is very loving and very good for the groomer while she bathed him and cut his hair. Q-Tip is healthy, de-wormed, heartworm-tested, up-to-date on vaccines, and will be micro-chipped and neutered upon adoption. If you are interested in adopting Q-Tip, please fill in the online application at and follow up by contacting Gloria at or 773-907-0305. His adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescues of Famous Fido’s. The rescue has dogs of all sizes and ages looking for loving guardians. They spend their days at 5430 N. Clark Street in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. Make an appointment to stop in and meet some of these lovable souls.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Q-Tip, a Chicago Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
