My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM 10/8/14: Big Ben is waiting patiently for a new home. He is a big friendly dog with both boundless energy and endless patience. He loves going on walks and playing with his toys and playing fetch. He will also sit and watch patiently as you go about your business. Here he is sitting in my garden watching me weed and plant. He loves hugs and cuddles and would dearly love a permanent home. Is this lovable boy the dog for you?

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM: Hi, My name is Ben! Do not let this elegant pose fool you! I can sit quietly and watch what you are doing, but I love, love playing!! I love toys and balls, and I would love a forever family who would take me on long walks, on trails or in parks. Did I mention I love balls and chew toys? I will chase small furry creatures, including cats! (My foster Mom's cat really tells me off if I get too close to her!). I am big, and I am boisterous, so I may not do well with young kids or older folks. But older kids and couples who are active would be a great fit for me! Are you my Forever Family?

MEET BIG BEN! This 4-5 year old boy is very sweet and good with other dogs. He is food motivated and would do great with training. He is unfortunately heartworm positive and will be treated in the coming days. Stay tuned as we learn more about him. If you would like to donate for his treatment http://labradorfriends.com/donate/

UPDATE: Big Ben was great during his HW treatment. He is already feeling a lot better. He will need to be quite for a couple of months but after that he can start normal activities. He will soon be as good as new. We also expect his sun bleached coat to change into a darker color although we think there is some Chesapeake Bay in him which makes him extra handsome. Big Ben is doing great in his foster home. He likes everyone and he is really easy going. He LOVES food and he has a good nose for food. Because of his food drive, he is easily trainable. As you can see in the pictures, he is also super sweet and loves kisses.
