Lexie II's Story...
Hi there! It's Lexie and I'm hoping to be the Golden girl in your life. I'm ten years old and at 92.4 pounds, a bit of a marshmallow for sure. There were a lot of dogs and cats at my former home, so maybe my owner didn't realize I was eating too much. Anyhow, my owner went on to that place you humans call heaven and I was turned in to the Decatur shelter because there were no relatives to care for me. Are you somebody who would like to go for walks and throw balls for me to fetch? Although I need to get in shape, I feel sure we could encourage each other to find a healthy routine. If you walk me, those extra cookies won't go on your waistline either. And it's always more fun doing things together, don't you think? I am ready to become svelte again with your help. Love Lexie

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexie II, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
