My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our ten month old sweetheart , Mia. Mia is a young Shepherd/Lab mix. Mia is one of the happiest dogs. She loves everyone she meets and expects them to either wag their tail for her of bend down and give her hugs! Mia was pulled from a high kill shelter in TN. She weighs about 65 pounds at 10 months so she will be large. If you have ever the expression " wouldn't hurt a fly", well that is Mia. Mia is in a foster home with other dogs, large and small. Mia is house trained.
Mia is ready to meet her new family and call someplace HOME!

If you are interested in giving Mia a wonderful home, go to our Facebook page and download the application from the "Notes" section. While you are there, please "Like" our page to see our new available dogs and keep up with upcoming events.

You can also email us at merceranimalrescue@gmail.com and we will email an application to you. Feel free to call Beverly at 901-651-6322 or Angela at 901-361-0089 anytime with questions.

Mia's adoption donation is $495 which helps to cover the spaying, micro-chipping, shots, bordetella (kennel cough), vet examination, certificate of health and transport fee.

Mia is fostered in Tennessee and will travel to her new family by professional pet transport once she has been adopted. We use a weekly transport to the northeast and a twice monthly transport to the Chicago / Milwaukee / Minneapolis areas.

Our primary source of funding comes from this adoption donation. This donation allows us to rescue other dogs in danger of being put to sleep, injured or sick dogs and dogs that have never known the comfort of a home.
