Jeff's Story...
Jeff is a 1 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. We're guessing he's mixed with Australian Shepard, his coat is a bit longer but otherwise he looks like a Catahoula. He is medium sized but muscular, around 40 lbs. He is a very friendly, never met a stranger type of boy. He likes other dogs and gets along well with many different ages/sizes/sexes of dogs in his foster home. He enjoys playing with whoever will play with him but backs off when a dog doesn't want to play. He would be a very good dog park dog. Jeff is now pretty much potty trained and is definitely a house dog. His only bad indoor habit is jumping on people when he wants attention. We aren't sure if he likes cats. Jeff is very snuggly and is a big time lap dog. He is also VERY athletic and fast. He would be a great working dog or for someone who wanted to do agility. He is very high energy and will need a fenced yard if you do not have land. In his current foster home he spends most of the day and part of the night playing with other dogs in the yard, by his choice. It would be very tough to wear him out without space for him to run for most of the day. That said, if you live in an apartment but are looking for a regular running buddy and don't mind spending time at the dog park we'd like to hear from you as well.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jeff, a Manhattan Catahoula Leopard Dog/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Australian Shepherd for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
