Meet Dilbert!
Dapper Dilbert is an adorable young dachshund whose foster mom calls “a little lover!” He’s got the energy of a puppy and loves to play and be outside, but when you sit down he’s all about cuddling in your lap and taking a snooze. If you’re looking for a little sidekick, “Dilly” is your guy!
He loves bully sticks, peanut butter, chewing on stick and, well, all food! Dilbert is working hard on his crate- and potty-training, and takes baths well — though he’s not always thrilled about getting dried off! He doesn’t currently live with any other dogs, but he’s successfully met other dogs. Dilbert is playful with them from the get-go, and loves to jump back and forth or run in circles to engage them in play. He’s only been around cats a few times, so proper introductions would be needed.
Dilbert came to Canine Cupids with a back injury and malformed back legs, thought to be a congenital condition. As such, he's still working on potty training. With tender loving care the reflexes in his rear legs have improved, and his condition doesn’t stop him from having fun. His foster mom says that sometimes he runs around the corner so fast that his little back legs go airborne!
He needs a patient forever family that will be devoted to helping this spunky pup be the best dog he can be!
Dilbert’s adoption fee is $250 and he’s located in Waukesha, WI. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
