Here's what the humans have to say about me:
A local hunter in my County had two dogs he wanted me to take to find good homes. They had been living outside 24 x 365 in a 10x10 pen. He wanted better for them!!!! I am so grateful he reached out to me to try to get these dogs the life they really deserve. One is a five year old Beagle girl named LUCKY. She is so named because when she was born, they thought she was dead and they wrapped her in a little blanket. They came back later and the blanket was moving. Lucky is a SWEET spunky affectionate friendly 30 pound lady. Oscar is perhaps six years old. He was adopted years ago by the man's daughter, but she moved into an apartment and poor Oscar moved out to the pen. Oscar had had 15 minutes of fame (the happy pic below). When I got him, he was matted with infected skin and infection under his collar. He was soooo goood while I brushed off all the bad fur and gave him a medicated bath. I also started him on antibiotics. Oscar and Lucky both tested positive for Heartworm and Erlichea, but have been successfully treated for both. I think Oscar might be a DUCK TOLLING RETRIEVER MIX, at least that is who he looks like to me. He is a hoot - so sweet and affectionate, like Lucky, which speaks to the kindness of the people who gave them to me. Very playful - loves toys! If you wanted a pair - he and Lucky are BESTIES! Oscar is ok with male dogs most of the time, but really prefers the ladies. If you are interested in meeting / adopting / fostering OSCAR, please contact Bev at 804-248-3042 or crazydoglady64@aol.com!
