My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bleu was saved by our excellent Texas rescuer just in time. He was very close to being euthanized in a high-kill shelter...a far too common end for small, unwanted dogs. We're so grateful to the women in Texas who put forth so much time & energy to help these hopeless pups. The first obvious thing is that Bleu is gorgeous! His silky hair is amazing in color with golds and brindle running through it. Bleu, at 15 months old and about 10 lbs is at his prime. Since being rescued, vetted, temperament tested and moved into the excellent home of a Colorado retired couple, Bleu has regained his puppy trust and love of life...he is a happy and very healthy guy. Sadly, Bleu's family has come to the conclusion that they are no longer at a point in their life where they have the energy for a young guy. Bleu would be ecstatic to hike trails, play hard with canine and human friends...and sleep well because he's had the exercise and mental stimulation a young pup requires. Bleu's mom had the following to say about this very sweet guy:
It's immediately obvious that Bleu is a really smart and loving dog. I had him completely house-broken in just three weeks..no accidents! He knows sit, down, Mommie will be right back and can say I Love You. He is not a yappy dog and hardly ever barks except when he's trying to express an opinion like.. Let's play or Lets go for a LONG walk. Then he tries to explain what he wants with very animated dog speak. If his family will set boundaries around this, I'm sure he can stop this behavior. He likes his bath but would be happy to pass on the brushing and primping stuff. Bleu really enjoys children and all his doggie friends at the dog park. He may be small but he'd be over the moon with a long hike (other doggie friends would be a real plus). He loves the mountains and exploring with the people he loves. It's unfortunate that we haven't been able to give him this..and a large part of why we must part with him. He does fine when left home alone ..if I say Mommie will be right back. He gives loads of kisses but isn't thrilled with being picked up... we think he would accept this better if his exercise needs were met.
I think Bleu would enjoy having a younger mommie and daddy and maybe some children around. I know he would love another doggie in the family. A very active retired couple or individual who enjoys the company of a fuzzy guy would be great as well. He would thrive on his people being at home alot and enjoying physical activities and then couch time together. If Bleu really gets bored and frustrated with lack of exercise...he's been known to chew a wire or 2...our fault as well as his. We adore this sweet spirit but aren't capable of providing him with what he needs.
Farfel's would like to see Bleu living in a house (instead of condo or apartment) with a yard so he can play and enjoy the great Colorado air. The family that bring this guy into their family will have a devoted...and gorgeous I might add...companion for life!- We would strongly suggest positive reinforcement group training class for Bleu. He would love the socialization...and it would provide boundaries and great bonding with his family. Bleu has never been given proper guidance for acceptable behavior..and he's a blank slate just waiting for his people to lead the way.
Bleu is a non-shedding guy and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his stunning, cotton-soft coat healthy and matt free.

Bleu is currently living in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets being set up for this sweet and loving companion.
