My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a courtesy post: Scooter came to me from a Craigslist Ad. She is a 5yr old doxie with special needs. She is 8.5 lbs, spayed, HW negative, UTD on shots and rabies. In May, 2013, she was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease and it left her paralyed in her rear legs. She had a yearly vet exam on 6/11/14; she is healthy and pain free and has some tarter on the teeth, but nothing to be concerned with. The vet suggested giving her a cranberry capsule every day to control the chronic bladder infection that paralyzed dogs have. She does have separation anxiety which can be controlled with Rescue Remedy added to her water.
Scooter is looking for a loving home that will take the time to love on her, play fetch, change her diapers, sit in your lap, and return her kisses. She gets around great on all types of floors including ceramic, vinyl, hardwood and carpet. She loves other dogs (big dogs are ok) and children and loves playing fetch. She will fetch her toy and sometimes bring it back to you and sometimes will roll on her back and pay with it. With the paralysis, she is extremely strong in her forelegs and moves around dragging her rear legs. She is inefficient at keeping her bladder empty, so she doeswear a deaper when scooting around the house. This was confirmed by the vet - she cannot potty on command like a normal dog can. She is crate trained and enjoys sleeping in her crate at night with the diaper removed.
Her adoption will include her crate, water bottle for the crate, remainder of any deapers and food, her toys, her life jacket for swim therapy, food/water bowl setup and her blankets.
Please consider giving this wonderful girl a loving home andkisses to spare.
Approved adoption application and small fee will apply.
