My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Indy and I would like to introduce myself to you. They call me Indy as a reference to Indiana Jones. I am a confident, feisty, high energy and intelligent puppy. I am 5 months old and my foster family thinks I am a border collie/terrier mix. At 5 months I’m 30 lbs so my foster family guesses I will be around 40 pounds full grown. I am at a very impressionable age and need an active family that will continue to guide me to be a well adjusted canine citizen. I am at a very rambunctious stage of my life so it could be challenging to have young children and me in the same house since I am easily excitable and jump and chew on things. I’m doing very well on my potty training and my foster family feed I am housebroken assuming you pay attention to my potty habits. I get along with dogs, kids and adults. I do wrestle pretty hard with dogs so I need timeouts to recompose myself. I sleep through the night in the living room with my other doggy buddies. If left home alone I'm crated as I would be destructive left when left to entertain myself. My foster family has been working on my food bowl issues and with positive reinforcement have shown me that people around food equals good things. I will need continued training in this area so I don't revert to my growly ways but I'm moving in the right direction. This issue seems to be related specifically to the food bowl, not the water bowl or getting treats from humans. I still eat really fast so my foster family is using a training bowl that slows me down and provides mental stimulation at the same time. I already know the following commands: Sit, off, lay down, leave it, take it and no. I really love attention and getting belly rubs. I LOVE walks and am getting better every day on the leash. I’m just an overall happy dog that loves to make you smile and would do great with an active family that will provide me with love, discipline and basic obedience training. I have a high energy level but I’m also in a multi dog home so I get the exercise and training I need to be well behaved in the house. I do play a little rough and my best friend in the whole world is another Rover Rescue foster dog named Joshua. I would be too high energy for a laid back dog, but if there are multiple dogs in the house and one is playful and the other isn't I would probably do okay. I’m currently in a fenced in yard but I would do well with someone that will give me considerable exercise walking if there isn't a fence. My adoption fee is $225, if you'd like to meet me please call Robin at 630-877-4433 or email crowley3802@sbcglobal.net, I'd love to get to know you better and maybe become your new four legged family member.
