My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi People,
I’m Sawyer, an adorable and appreciative Bichon boy of two who weighs a whopping nine pounds soaking wet. I’m a playful little guy who is a natural meeter-and-greeter. I love people of all sizes, shapes and ages ‘cause I’m a loving, sweet, friendly and cute little guy. And I’m also lucky. Lucky because I’m safe and in a loving home once again.
You see one day, not very long ago, my mom and dad had to move away. They told me to be a brave boy and then took me to the shelter – and left me. They hadn’t groomed me in a long time so I looked very scraggly and boy! was I scared. No one came to meet me at the shelter and I wondered if I would ever have a home of my own again. Then, luckily, I became a furkid.
I wasn’t sure about the car ride at first or where I was going. (It was obvious that I didn’t get to ride in the car very often.) But my foster mom and human brother were really nice and very kind so I started to relax. At my new home I also have a doggy foster brother who is teaching me how to play - and that’s all new to me, too.
Did I mention that I’m a bit of a character? Well you see I get so excited when someone comes to visit (or I get to go outside or to have a treat) that I dance like a circus dog. Mom says I’m very entertaining!
Before I forget, I want you to know that I’m crate trained (but also sleep in the Big People’s Bed!), almost housebroken (Honestly Mom I haven’t broken a thing!) and I never mark (no typo there!) I am very friendly and reserved. On a walk, Mom says I greet everyone enthusiastically. I want to go up every sidewalk to say, "Hello."
And when I meet someone I gently put my front paws on them and nestle in. Being a snuggler is a natural for me – and I have earned an A++ in Snuggling.
I would love a couple, or even a single friend with whom I can share special time, who will be tender with me and give me lots of attention (which I promise to soak up and appreciate!) Another furkid would be best for me, too.
I’m just a very grateful boy who deserves a forever home. So if you are looking for a loving, sweet, friendly and somewhat reserved little boy, then I’m the guy for the job. I will be a wonderful and loving companion if you will be one back - and will work with me so I can keep getting better and better.
Tail wags and kisses,
Sweet and Silly Sawyer (the circus dog)
