My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HEY THERE! My name is "TEDDY" and I am available for adoption... again!

YEA.... I was just adopted but have been quickly returned back to Gail.

It was nothing I did or didn’t do! Really! It's just that the husband had a change of heart and doesn't want to deal with dogs any more. The wife was devastated and knew that I needed a home where I was wanted.

Fine. People have never really wanted me anyway. I had been passed me around on that Craigslist a few times. "Happy Hound Rescue" finally got me and Lynne said it was best I go to Gail's.

Gail would never listen to my complaints and scared attitude, even then I tried to explain how I received the burn scars on my back and why I run away when people come to socialize with me.

I wolf down my food and water because I went hungry so many times before. And that I don't play with toys because I grew up not knowing anything about toys, fun, laughter and love.

I told Gail that I am scared and not sure of what life and people were going to do to me next. I will go off by myself as I am shy, reserved and have a quiet personality.

I'm just so scared of being hurt again.

But that darn Gail wouldn't listen to any of my excuses! She smiled and gives me big hugs while gently telling me that I am a very cute, lovable, "special needs" tiny Toy Poodle.

While my physical scars quickly healed, my emotional scars will take longer. Gail reminded me that I have learned to come when she rattles the treat bag. Sometimes I even ask to be picked up and loved. And once in awhile, I will wag my stubby little tail.

I really like to sit in Gail's lap when she reads a book or watches that big box with moving pictures on it. But, I get tired of all that loving, so I move over and lay next to her. I also like that big guy who lives here too; his name is Mike.

There is a routine set-up here for house training and I am a very good boy! I keep my kennel and the house clean while I will relieve myself in the big fenced yard.

I love being outside, laying in the sunshine on Gail's and Mike's deck, or going for a walk on a leash.
Small children and large dogs really scare me. I know where to hide when I see them, so Gail just puts me in my kennel with lots of soft blankets.

It's fun and I greatly enjoy following all the other Poodles around. They have been showing me how a Poodle is supposed to act. I really do like all the Poodles here at Gail's and would be very good in a family with other quiet dogs who will not pick on me, O.K.?

My birth date is May 16, 2007. I'm only 8 1/2" tall and weigh just 5 pounds. All my needed vet work has been done, including neutering, heartworm check negative, worming, shots are all up to date and I have been Home Again micro-chipped.

The Vet cleaned out my ears, so now I can hear! I've not had any problems with my blown anal glands as they have been treated, healed nicely and the swelling has gone down.

My 3 teeth are doing fine; they did not need cleaning. My blood work and tests have come back "NORMAL", so I am not diabetic or developing Cushing's.

Yes! I am a wonderful tiny toy Poodle! Gail said I will become a great and loving pet with a family who know that it will take work, time, compassion, patience and love to bring me into the world of human kindness.

But we all look at it as an "adventure"!

My $200.00 adoption fee will help pay for just some of my Vet expenses. I also come with a quality dog food, a kennel with blankets, toys, jacket, leash, collar and lots of good information to help your adoption start on the right paw forward.

Because we are a foster based, home environment group, an “Application For Adoption” must be completed. Please contact Gail if you would like more information about me or my "Application For Adoption".
