My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Django! The D is silent so you actually say the word JANGO to call him by name. He is a beautiful, 1.5 year old, 60 pound Red Merle, Australian Shepherd who came to his foster home as a lost dog found on the side of the road. His family could never be found. Django is your typical Aussie who is very energetic, playful, loving and loyal. He never meets a stranger and since the foster mom decided that she did not have the time to give him (she has many other wonderful dogs already) she decided to help Django look for the perfect new forever home. Because he is a working breed, he has some specific needs that she wants everyone to pay attention to: He would best be suited with a female companion or as the only dog. He lives with 6 other dogs and does well BUT, he sometimes tries to exert dominance over the males. He needs a young energetic family with maybe older children that can really give him the exercise he needs. Django should have plenty of space to exercise, preferably a large fenced in area or farm. An apartment would not be suitable for his energy level. He wants to please his owner and would be happy in an environment where he is asked to work such as in agility. He would do great in obedience training and would benefit from it. He needs routine grooming (which he was in need of when the pictures were taken) because he has a thick coat. Django is house trained and loves to be in the house but he also loves to be outside. He will chase cats but has never hurt one. If you have cats he may not be the best fit for you. Django is a great dog and would make someone a wonderful companion. I would ask anyone that is interested in adopting him to research the breed to make sure he would fit into your lifestyle.
