My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi People,
My name is Cookie and I am a bundle of love – a sweet-natured bichon girl between three and four who is affectionate, sweet tempered, obedient and smart. I am a good natured girl with a desire to please, beautiful brown eyes that will touch your soul and a happy smile for everyone I meet.

While I can sometimes be a bit shy at first, I am very loving and sweet. My foster Mom adores me (she says I deserve to be called Princes and to be treated as one) and says I am a wonderful companion. (Mom says I am so well behaved that she rarely has to tell me anything – I learn quickly and seem to ‘just understand!’) She says I love to go for rides (I curl up and rest quietly until we get to where we are going!) and I enjoy short walks. Mom says I have a wonderful way of fitting in wherever I go.

I really love people of all sizes and shapes and think they are just the best for sleeping next to and cuddling. I like to snuggle with Mom and would never think of taking up too much of the bed!

Mom says I am very loving and anxious to please – a gentle not-so-little girl with a huge heart. Although I’m not a dainty girl, I will make you smile when I enter a room as I’m so happy and sweet natured.

Before I became a ‘fur kid’ I lived in a home where they did not take very good care of me. My hair was rarely clean, I was not fed well and did not get a lot of exercise. Despite that my sweetness and loving nature was always apparent. I also have a condition with a long, fancy name. What it means is that the only thing I cannot do is to jump up (on furniture, the bed or to get in the car.) If you are willing to lift me, that’s all I need. I also walk more slowly up stairs – so a home without too many stairs or on one level is best for me.

The vet says that I am just the way Mother Nature wanted me to be, that I am a happy and healthy little girl and that I don’t need any medication or surgery. (If you like the idea that I need a little help to be on the furniture, then I’m your girl!)

If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet bichon girl who only wants to give and receive love and affection, please fill out an application at www.bichonfurkids.org/Applications.

I look forward to meeting you and becoming part of your Forever Family.
