Cocoa, possible home's Story...
To start the adoption process, please fill out our form on our web site at: www.spokanewienerdogs.org and see the Adopt a Dog/Fee page with more details on how we adopt our dogs. There are a lot of questions answered on our site and personality details below about each dog.

Dogs listed on Petfinder are still available for adoption and will stay listed until we find them the right homes with our adoption paperwork all finished. Thanks.

Please indicate which dog you are interested in on the form. You can also view our adoption contract sample there as well and read about our adoption process like site visits and paperwork needed to adopt.

There is an adoption fee of $250 for this dog. No phone calls or emails please. Please see our web site for details.

This is about a year old Chiwiener pup who still needs spaying. She will be fixed before being placed but I thought folks might want to know she will be available soon.

Cocoa is all of 6 or 7 pounds she is so very tiny. Folks will need to wait a bit while we make sure she has shots, wormed and fixed of course. I also have a call into the vet to find out when that will be, hopefully this week.

She has a very cute overbite but I do hope whoever bred her is not breeding more of this overbite any longer. It does not slow her down any but that is genetic and something good breeders should never breed in their pups.

So far she is very, quiet, calm and sweet. She is not yappy or mental. Plus she likes all the dogs and kind with people.

Because she is so tiny we will ask for a home with kids over age 12, a fence and small breed dogs in her life. Being stepped on by a big dog could do some damage.

I will add more details as I find them out here but so far so good with this tiny girl. Whoever wants a mini and do not care of a mix then this is your girl. Younger, sweet females do not last long so start our adoption process soon. Our web site is down for a bit so please send me a message through this web site telling me how many kids, pets, dogs, cats, how long gone during the day when working, etc.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cocoa, possible home, a Spokane Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Spokane, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Spokane.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spokane already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spokane breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spokane paves the way for another one to be saved.
