Here's what the humans have to say about me:
http://www.valleydogs.org/sophie-bear.html -- Sophie: I am a 4 year old Beagle mix. I’m shy and it takes me a little while to warm up to new things. I am very sweet and lovable and am always looking for someone to pet me. I like to have someone around. I am a very well behaved dog.
I do not have much interest in toys but if you have an outdoor area for me to explore, that is my favorite thing to do. I feel at my best and confident searching the yard with my Beagle instincts. At my foster home I have had a lot of fun chasing cats and bunnies out of the yard. I like to go on walks too.
I have grown up with my best buddy a Chow mix named Bear. He and I are very different but I am comforted by his presence. If there is room in one home for both of us that would make me happy; but if you only have room for me and you would be willing to encourage me and help me slowly adjust to not having Bear around? I will need a 4 legged companion when you are not at home.
Bear: I am a 6 year old Chow mix. I am a very good dog. I am well behaved and loyal. I enjoy eating and naps and going on walks. I like to check out the yard from time to time to make sure all is safe. If everything is going well then I will nap and seek you out occasionally for a couple of minutes of affection. I don’t care for toys but you want to give me a treat or a bone occasionally I would enjoy that.
My foster family has teenagers and I like them. My foster dad works from home and I like to lay on the office floor while he’s working. Once in a while I find a cat or rabbit in the yard, I run them off, I don’t care for them. I would prefer to be the alpha dog in the house… I’m protective but not agressive and I want to be the one to be sure all is secure.
I have grown up with my buddy Sophie who is also up for adoption. Sophie feels more comfortable with me around and if you have enough room for both of us that would really help her out. If you only have room for me would you be willing to help Sophie separate slowly from me and give her time to bond with her new family?
