Max is about 5 yrs old, 65 solid pounds and gets around well with 3 legs, he goes for daily walks at his foster home
Come play time, Max loves squeaky toys and romping at the dog park (having a ball with both big and small dogs) that was his fav thing to do when he lives in the Bay area with another short term foster
We do prefer him as only dog with playdates as he has not recently lived with other dogs or just a sidekick for a single person in the country or outskirts of town would be ideal
he's very friendly to all people outside the home but becomes protective when people enter his home
most likely because he was a homeless guys dog
so if you are alone in the country he surely would protect you
if you're not in the country the option of crating him or another room when the occational stranger enters the home
if you cannot live with that please do not apply
this is the only little hang up he has his good qualities make up for that
we really want to place him with a forever matching person to be happy for the reminder of his life
he's healthy and in good shape
Max has waited a very long time and really would love a home
He can do anything a four-legged pup can do (run up stairs, play fetch, you name it) but of course he's not a marathon runner and living in a home without stairs will help him once he gets older
Maximillian is a wonderful boy to the right dog experienced person, he's pretty easy and very loving to the people he calls his family as well as any stranger outside his home he's a super protector of his family and home when inside his own home because he lived and was trained with a homeless guy to protect him so a country home with little to no foot traffic a must
Max takes protecting his home and family seriously we do not want him to just be a protector but a loved family member
Please be very dog and breed experienced in a quiet, calm mellow home but active enough for daily walks and playtime

looking for true dog whisperer folks that know less talk is actually more with dogs and that natural leadership
He belonged to a homeless person before the rescue took him in
he had an accident being run over by a car a rescue paid for his vetbill and leg amputation
