Here's what the humans have to say about me:
August was rescued with her sibling as a puppy. She had everyone at her foster home fooled for quite awhile... She is so intelligent and she followed the lead of her sibling and the other dogs, doing what her friends did: jump up to greet us, get excited to go on walks, chase balls, etc.
So it took a long time to figure out that she cannot hear. Her first foster home finally realized she is deaf when they would see her sleeping through the chaotic barking of her foster buddies!
August is super athletic and will chase fetch a tennis ball all day long if you will keep throwing it. She can complete air spins catching the tennis ball while jumping 10 feet into a pond. Her ball is her safety net; August loves to drop the tennis ball in the tub during your shower or in the kitchen sink when you are doing dishes JUST to tell you she was near! She has a happy, super friendly, kinda goofy personality and loves to curl up to snooze in the freshly washed laundry.
August respond beautifully to simple hand signals and does well in following direction. It is not hard to get her attention, even tho' she cannot hear as she keeps her eye on her people all the time, just in case they are getting ready to throw a tennis ball. She has a gentle soul and she does great with other dogs and lives in her foster home with kitties also.
August is about 3 yrs old now. She would love an active home, hopefully with another dog to "guide" her, as long as that dog lets her be the Queen of the Tennis Ball.
We don't know what breeds August has in her. Her intensity in the game of ball reminds us of the aussie/border collie ability to focus. There must be some kind of retriever in there as will retrieve as long as you can throw and she loves to swim.-
Please contact; milne7896@comcast.net for additional information on August. You can also call 916-420-5798 or 209-245-4024.
She is microchipped; all vaccinations; heartworm tested negative; on frontline and heartguard preventative. Adoption donation is $250.00 which includes spay. Please email milne7896@comcast.net..
