Minni-ADOPTION PENDING's Story...
Some of us are born with a special passion in our hearts. Such was the case for Minni's rescuer...a new college graduate who wanted to put her energies into a worthwhile endeavor. She wanted to begin to right the wrongs she became aware of in the world of puppy mills. Becca didn't just talk about her dreams...she drove from Colorado to Missouri to attend an auction to save as many lives as possible. The dogs Becca saved all had 1 thing in common...they would be spending their lives in wire cages, and when their breeding years were over, they would be killed. The shock was the complete lack of compassion for these little beings...they were nothing more than a means to an end for a greedy and heartless group.
Minni looked up fearfully with her expressive eyes as the bidding started that would direct the rest of her life. Luck was with her on that fateful day...she was going home with Becca! The adorable purebred Chihuahua, Minni, became a part of Farfel's Rescue in Boulder, CO to find her forever family. Minni is a tiny girl at just 2.4 lbs and 2 years old. We have great hopes for Minni's future...even though she's just a bit timid and fragile, Minni loves people and wants to bond with all her heart. Minni has a very sweet and friendly temperament. She wants to trust...and she will with just a bit of patience from her forever family.
The perfect home for Minni is a very quiet and predictable environment. We think she'd be a gift for a retiree who enjoys the company of a sweet lap dog. With time, Minni will feel safer and safer to show the love that lives inside of her. As this friendship blossoms, Minni will be a best friend who will return devotion and loyalty a thousand times over. Minni enjoys (and derives self-esteem) from relationships with like-sized, very gentle dogs. As she becomes acclimated, we know that Minni will learn how to play with... and follow the directives of canine friends. Minni would also benefit greatly from socialization once she is comfortable with her family. A trip in the car to dog-friendly spots..visiting friends who love dogs or even just running errands where a hug and a treat are good possibilities will start Minni on the path to believing the world is a positive place. We think that Minni would be much happier in a home where her family is present and enjoys the daily company of a tiny and portable little dog.
Minni appears to be a very lightly shedding girl (she has such short hair, you can barely tell) and will therefore require great nutrition and periodic sudsy baths to keep her coat shining and healthy.
Minni is being fostered in Denver, CO. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets are being set up for this exceptional pup who will be a best friend and lap-dog extraordinaire to a lucky family.
