My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bruce "Almighty" is, in actuality, very tiny BUT he is huge in cuteness and spirit. Bruce was brought to a shelter with a compound fracture in one of his legs and that leg had be be amputated. And did that bring Bruce down? No way! He is chipper and loving, spry and silly, just as a young boy of about five months should be. He is only about three pounds right now and probably won't be much bigger if at all.

Some might ask if he is special needs and we would disagree. Being an amputee doesn't in any way shape or form hinder his health or mobility.

Bruce gets along great with dogs and cats, and LOVES children. When at the shelter he attended a few adoption events and was a hit with everyone big and small. He is good on lead (for a tiny pup) and REALLY likes going on walks where he is being held.

Being young he is not yet fully house trained but is well on his way. And he settles down well for a nap and through the night in his crate, as well as enjoys car rides.

If you are interested in meeting and potentially adopting Bruce please follow the instructions below to be pre-approved.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under Resources. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
