Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there, I am Jester beagle, or as my foster family calls me, Jessie.
I am a sweet young man, who likes to play, whether it is with a 4-legged friend, or having you toss squeaky toys, or balls around for me, or I even playing with squeaky toys by myself.
But when we come in, I am happy to camp out on the couch, or lay in your lap.
Foster dad likes that if my foster sisters and I are up early to eat, I will go back to bed, especially on weekends. They say I am a pretty good boy in that I have 2nd floor priviledges, which you have to be pretty trustworthy to earn here.
I would do fine with a buddy. If they don’t like to play, I am good at leaving them alone. But my foster family thinks I would be fine by myself also. I do like to be near you, and if you don’t keep me near you, I will let you know. But when my foster family leaves for work, they crate me, give me a kong, and I am fine.
We have a fenced yard here, and I love to be out it in it running around and playing, so having a fenced yard would probably be best for me.
My foster family says I do well in the house and out in their yard, because I can be with or near people, or the other dogs. And if I get barky, they are able to redirect me pretty easily.
But when I am out in public, and on leash, well that is a different story. I just want to say hi to other dogs, or people, and will bark and whine, and pull to get to them. Walks are not my best trait at all LOL. I bounce around a bit on car rides wanting to see where we are going. And will also let the people in the car next to, or behind us, know that I am there.
I did know sit when I got here, and I am food motivated, as all beagles tend to be, so foster dad thinks I would do well in obedience training.
Cats would not be a good thing in my new home. We did a quick cat test, and I was pretty excited about the cat, and wanted to chase it around the house. Foster dad thinks I would not leave a cat alone, which he figured since I am fascinated by squirrels and birds in the yard.
Overall my foster family says I have been a fun boy to have in the house, and that I have plenty of love to give to people. I am also pretty agile, aka, the one picture on my profile.
