My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stitch--Updated Bio 8-5-14 Stitch is an amazing fellow who is 9 years old and weighs about 10 pounds. He is being fostered in Leesburg, FL.

Stitch is truly one of a kind. He is cute, funny, loving, and full of energy when he is not happy to just be sitting quietly with his foster mom and dad. He wants you to know he is the happiest little fellow who gets along with everyone, except cats. So please no home with cats for Stitch.

Stitch is house trained, loves to ride in the car, and would do best in a home with a fenced yard. He loves to run so a fenced yard would be ideal for him. He would also be happy to be taken to a dog park or any place he can have a safe area to run around in. He has fun chasing squirrels and lizards, even though he has never come close to catching one. He would also like some older kids to play with him, but that is not a must. He loves all people and would do great in a home with only adults, or in a family with older kids.

Please, don't let his age scare you. He is more like a puppy than a 9 year old. In fact, his foster parents said he is the youngest 9 year old dog they ever met. He's energetic and bouncy and just so much fun to be around.

When Stitch is ready to eat, he will talk to you and tell you he is hungry and wants you to know it's time for his meal. He's a great eater and a great sleeper. He would prefer to sleep with his people on their bed, but he does fine in a crate too.

Stitch's personality just goes on and on. Stitch would love to find his forever home where he can become part of a family again. Won't you consider opening up your heart and home to this one of a kind, wonderful fellow. You will never be sorry if you do, because what a great dog you will be getting!

Stitch- Updated bio 7/7/14 Stitch is a 10 pound, 9 year old amazing yorkie with a personality that doesn't quit. He is being fostered in Leesburg, FL.

Stitch is probably the funniest, most personable fellow ever. He smiles, talks to you, and can entertain you as long as you let him. Stitch will shake your hand, sit for a treat, and be as close to his people as he can get. In the month he has been in his foster home he has wormed his funny face and ears and his great personality into his foster parents' hearts.

He loves to run and play. He will chase toys and bring them back, but he also loves a good game of tug. Stitch really needs a fenced yard, because he looks at an open door as an invitation to have you play 'chase the dog' who is running as fast as he can. He would enjoy some older children to play with, as long as they remember to not let him near an open door. He would be fine being an only dog because he would rather hang out with his people then with his foster sisters.

Stitch is house trained, does great in the crate at night, through he would prefer to sleep with his people. He is in great health, with not a single thing wrong with him. He should have many many good years ahead of him. He may be nine years old on paper, but he looks and acts like a much younger dog. His foster parents did learn that Stitch does not like cats, so a home with a cat is not the right one for him.

If you would like to have this amazing pup in your life, please fill out an adoption application. Stitch hopes that the right family is out there just wanting to make him part of their family and love him forever.

Stitch Initial Bio 6/6/14 -- Stitch is a 9 year old 10 pound yorkie. His owners were not longer able to care for him and they sadly surrendered him to United Yorkie Rescue. Stitch is being fostered in Leesburg, FL.

Stitch just came into our rescue today. He is going to the vet soon for his vaccinations and heartworm test and to get microchipped. He probably needs a dental. So far he has gotten along with his foster sisters. But he barked at the cats, so he may not like cats. He was great in the car and walking on the leash, however his former owners said he is a runner, so a fenced yard is a must. Stitch would do fine in a home with children as young as 9 who understand how to be gentle with a dog, and know he cannot be near any open doors that lead to an unfenced outside area.

As we get to know Stitch more information will be coming. We do already know he loves people, is very friendly. and would make a great family pet. He seems to love attention and being cuddled.
