My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bramble here. Don't know how it came to this--finding myself in a rescue kennel! I was bred for great adventures, heroic deeds and belly rubs. The story I heard was that our breeder didn't want us anymore and dropped the whole lot of us at a vet's office to be "put down", whatever that means. Instead of being "put down", all six of us were "picked up' by CARE, Inc. It's a pretty cush life here at CARE, cool grass, big trees, lots of good smells. But you know, beagles have a long, long history of being bred as companion dogs for the hunt, the trail, or just the couch. I'm not living up to my potential here, if you know what I mean. I yearn for a family of my own. The volunteers say they can hear it in my yodel when they show up to walk us. I try to make myself seen and heard above the rest. I want to be chosen, and not just for a 15-minute walk! No sirree, I want to be chosen for a lifetime with a family of my own so I'm going to put myself out there every chance I get.

Here's what I see I have going for me. Being a 13-inch beagle, I'm small enough for even a little one's lap but sturdy enough to tumble around with the athletes in the family. I'm old enough that my rough and rowdy puppy days are past but young enough to be someone's best friend for years to come. See what I mean? I'm just right if someone will give me a chance to live up to my potential. Maybe that someone is you?
