My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

REX is a 6 year old black neutered male who weighs 60 pounds. He's a very handsome and affectionate boy. He is a people dog - he just wants to be with you and wants to make you happy. Bonus: he will 'sleep in' as long as you will! Rex is house trained and crate trained. He likes to sleep in the crate with the door open. He does seem to know the commands: sit, lay down and roll over. Rex is very strong and does get excited to see people and other dogs on his walks. He is ok with other dogs but needs a proper intro so that he does not overwhelm them: he gets excited when he first meets new dogs, but quickly settles. Rex should go to a home with NO cats as he will chase them. Rex is in great shape and would make an excellent jogging partner. He is approved for kids 10 and up since he is so strong.

Update (7/17): Rex is a happy boy, always chipper and looking to play. He never met a stick he didn't like. When you get home he is there to great you with his kong in his mouth and a full body wag. We haven't been crating him and there has been no mayhem upon our arrival, so that's a good thing. He rides in the car like a champ and walks like a dream. He hardly ever pulls and when he does a quick "heel, boy" seems to solve it. He is happy to meet new friends human and canine and wags his tail and greets them like long lost pals, lots of kisses and lab leans. He is very calm and enjoys just hanging out with his people be it in the yard or outside. He likes a good game of fetch but settles when you quit. He also went swimming and did fantastic, as long as you had a stick to throw he wanted to keep swimming. He met a few new friends and actually treated them with wagging and kisses. He also got to go for some ice cream and sat in the outdoor seating area just as calm as could be, the picture of the ideal dog. He is a great boy who will make some lucky person a great dog.

Update (6/29): Rex is settling in nicely. We went on a few walks and met some other dogs. He did great.
