Facts about Duchess

  • Breed: Calico
  • Color: Calico Or Dilute Calico
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Poor Duchess has been twice left behind. She was first left behind when her family moved leaving her and her 6 kittens. We rescued her and found a home for her. Unfortunately, it was not the right match and that family took her to the shelter. We picked her up again and have promised her that
"the third time is the charm" Will you be the right person to give her love, be patient and build her trust of humans? She is a sweet girl who rolls on her back for tummy rubs and does the sweetest little happy paw dance when she wants to be pet. She would be okay with another quiet kitty. She is also microchipped.

About Happy Strays Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Happy Strays Rescue is a non-profit rescue organization that cares for stray, abandoned and orphaned cats and kittens. Our rescues are often just babies who require bottlefeeding and hand rearing. Our cats and kittens are cared for in a network of wonderful foster homes while they wait for adoption.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We currently have many many cats and kittens ready for adoption! Because we do not have a shelter and our cats reside in foster homes they are only available to be seen at our adoption Saturdays. If there is a cat you would like to meet, please let us know so that we can make sure the kitty is at our next event.

Our cats are available for adoption every Saturday from 11 am-3:30 pm at the PETCO in La Canada and 10:00am-2:30pm at Petco in Santa Clarita. Please see our website for details and directions.

Our Adoption Process...

Our fees average $100 and include spay/neuter, testing for Felv/FIV and all vaccinations. We have an adoption questionaire and contract to be signed. We do not allow de-clawing, but we often rescue declawed cats and have them available for adoption. If the adoption is not a good fit for the cat or family, pets may always be returned to us.
