My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trixie is a beautiful, 4 y/o beagle who is in need of a new home. Trixie is a standard 15 inch girl with a solid 30 pound frame. She is a muscular girl and really does not need to lose any weight.

Trixie had spent the last 3 years as an outside dog. She had some trouble with house training, but after treatment for a bladder infection, her accidents have stopped. She did have some crystals in her urine and will stay healthier, if she stays on a diet especially made for bladder issues. Because of her years as a yard dog, the yard is not a friendly place for Trixie. She does like company when she is outside, but she is starting to explore on her own. Having a dog door helps her feel more in control of her life.

Trixie gets along with her foster siblings, but is not extremely playful. She will join in on a game of chase and is always in front of the pack when a rabbit is sniffed out! Trixie has a laid back personality. As a slow eater, she will walk away from her food bowl if another dog pushes his muzzle in. She is never demanding of attention and only gets on furniture when invited. Trixie is delighted when she does get that invite up for a good snuggle! She does love to go on walks and does well on a leash, if a harness is used. Her other great enjoyment is a dip in the fish pond on a hot summer’s day! Beagles usually do not like water, but Trixie thinks it is a perfect way to cool off!

Trixie is a sweet and cuddly girl who needs a family to give her attention and care. She can be loud when the door bell rings, so might not work in an apartment. Please apply today to come and meet this wonderful girl!
