Smudge's Story...
Smudge is a very active youngster born March of 2014. He is very vocal and loves to talk to his humans and have them respond to him. Interactive string-type toys are his favorite. His fur is glossy, super soft and although short it has a nice fluff to it. Smudge would love to be in a home with at least one other friendly cat or humans that would be available frequently to spend time playing with him and giving him back scratches. He is not big on being held but loves to be pet and brushed and loved-on for hours.

He was rescued with his birthmother at 5 weeks old and started his socialization immediately. He has had frequent daily handling and enrichment (auditory, tactile and visual) by his fosters. In addition to being loved, snuggled, cuddled and kissed he is also neutered, microchipped, up to date on his distemper and rabies shots, tested negative for FeLV and negative for FIV and his next vet visit is not due until July of 2015.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smudge, a Pittstown Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Pittstown, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Pittstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
