My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Forest came to us with a number of issues. He was turned into the shelter because the family couldn't handle his food aggression. When we took him to the vet we found out he had a tick-borne illness and that his kidneys were compromised. He also had entropian. He has had his eye surgery and no longer has any problem there. His kidney function has improved and we are hopeful that in time it will become mostly normal though as of now it is still not at full function. His food aggression is manageable but it will require an experienced bloodhound owner and older children only in the home. With all that Forest is one of the most loving and playful hounds we have. He is known for coming up and laying his head in your lap and wanting to cuddle. He would also do best in a home with another playful dog. With more exposure his confidence would continue to grow as he has made tremendous strides going to new places. He loves people and other dogs and just needs more time in the world to learn it is a good place. Forest's adoption fee is $250 and an above ground fence is required. Application can be found at http://southcentralbloodhounds.org/available.html.
