Mischa's Story...
Big fan of: Being petted, sitting in laps, having his long fur brushed, and hanging out with other laid-back cats.

Not a fan of: Being left alone too much. Mischa is very people-oriented and likes to have your full attention so he can be doted upon properly.

A little more: Mischa came to PAWS recently after his family of five years could no longer care for him. He is very sweet and affectionate and loves to be loved. Mischa is great with people of all ages and even enjoys other mellow cats. This chatty guy likes to tell you what he is thinking with his sweet little meows. He is sure to make a devoted companion to the family who can look past his age. His adoption even comes with a free feline dental cleaning!

Dream home: Mischa is looking for a loving family who will brush him regularly to keep his silky, grey coat in good shape.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mischa, a Chicago Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
