My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: All our Cupids are fostered in private homes. An approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Meet Piper!
Piper is an adorable 10-lb., 5-year-old Cairn terrier mix! She returned to Canine Cupids when her beloved forever mama passed away. Piper loves playing with her two foster sisters (both large dogs), cuddles, taking walks, napping in her crate, on your lap, or the sofa if you allow her!

You might notice that one of Piper's eyes looks bigger than the other. We are happy to say our veterinarian says that eye is absolutely fine and she sees all clearly with both eyes -- including that extra piece of cake you have there on the table!

She is potty trained, doesn't bark much (though she will alert you when someone's at the door), and is not crate-trained, as her late mama took her everywhere with her. She has a normal amount of energy and has quickly adjusted to her foster home and the resident dogs. We're pretty sure she loves all the activity and attention she gets there!

Piper’s adoption fee is $150 and she is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
