Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tawny prances when she walks, but you'd never expect that if you saw her when she first came out of the shelter. She came to us as a scared little girl, nothing but skin and bones. In just a matter of just days, she started showing us what a great, happy girl she is. She was so hungry when she first came to her foster home that she ate 5 bowls of food on her first day here. Tawny still has a healthy appetite, and is already filling out and looking more like she should. Tawny gets so excited at dinner time, when we come home, or just when we call her name, that she nearly wiggles out of her skin. She loves attention from her people and hangs out wherever the people are. Tawny is a Hound mix, about 18 months old, and also appears to have some Pointer-type tendencies. When she goes outside, she throws her nose into the air and sniffs away. At times, when she catches a particular scent, she'll strike a pose of pointing her tail up and lifting a front foot while she sniffs into the wind. When she walks across the yard, she lifts her feet up to make it look like she's prancing around. Tawny is great in a crate. She currently is crated at night and does well. She's not much of a barker. If people or other dogs walk up close to the house, she'll alert, but is mostly pretty quiet. She gets along great with other dogs. When she has a rawhide or bone though, she needs to be by herself, probably stemming from her time in the shelter when the dogs had to fight for any scraps they could get. Tawny learned the doggie door at her foster home right away, and loves to hang out in the fenced back yard and just sniff around. She is really a happy dog, and when she's happiest if when her people play with her. Tawny is up to date on shots and is spayed. If she were a home, she's be “move-in ready”. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
