My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Simba and for the first two years of my life I did have a home and family, then on June 20th we went for a car ride… boy was I happy! It was a beautiful day and I was out with my mummy in the car. But then we got to this place and as soon as we stepped out of the car I knew I did not like this place, I could hear the dogs barking and crying – so many voices crying out!! We went inside and in a little while I would be taken from my mummy’s hands by a stranger who took me downstairs where all the howls, cries and barks were coming from! They put me in a cage where I sat so very scared all alone. Some staff came to visit me like the vet but she decided I was too mean to be check out because I snapped at her, she just didn’t understand that I was so very scared and I did not mean to be mean.
Another lady came to evaluate me but she kind of gave up on me too, not her fault I was very mean to her too but you see I was just so very scared and the barks and cries just never seemed to stop from all the other doggies who were left behind at the pound ... we were all just sad, scared and nervous.
I missed my mummy, I missed my home, my bed and MY food in the pretty bowls … I missed my peepad, they gave me none at the pound and I had to go in my cage and that made me very sad. I sat there for two days alone and scare and shaking… little did I know that there was a rescue group that stayed up all night with volunteers to find me a foster home and arrange to rescue me as soon as possible…. They could not come fast enough.
These volunteers at CAA could tell I was just scared and they took their time with me and were so very patient, they never ever gave up on me, they never rushed me and were not mad at me when I had an accident in my crate while they were driving me to my new foster home… it wasn’t my fault really I was just scared. But no one got mad at me and they just clean it up and acted like nothing ever happened. I was pretty impressed with them and decide to give them a chance; they did seem like very nice and gentle people plus they had treats! & I like those!!
I got out of the car at this wonderful place where I could smell the fresh cut grass and went for a walk and then met another doggie also in foster care with CAA, her name is Lola. Boy she was so nice to me, she showed me all the ropes and I could just tell by her energy that I had nothing to be afraid of ever again! We went for more walks, had something to eat and drink, snuggled on the couch to watch a movie, ate some bones and more walks … it is just so very awesome to be in foster care! Each and every day I learn all about this new life and each and every day I feel better and stronger and happier!!
No accidents in the home for me yet but I am trying really not to disappoint my foster daddy, he is a very gentle and kind man who set up a pee pad for me so if I need to go and he is not home I do my business on the pad. He is always so proud of me telling me I am a good boy it is great to see him so happy. I do absolutely love my walks and going on these mini adventures with my foster sister Lola.
If you come to meet me please don’t be put off if I am a little shy at first, there have been a lot of changes in my life, none of which I expected or asked for and I am trying super hard to adapt but it is all so new to me. I would prefer a home with no children or children over the age of 14. I would love a family who is home often and wants to be with me taking mini adventures together because once you get to know me you will see that I am a pretty cool dude!
If you think you can love me forever more please email CAARescue@gmail.com and ask them for an application to meet me, Simba
