Harley's Story...
Oh my gosh, HELLO!! I'm so excited to meet you! My name is Harley and I'm an 8yr old Rat Terrier mix. I have an awesome brown with black coat and I have already been neuter. You know the saying, "you're only as old as you feel"? Well I do NOT feel like 8yrs old and don't you dare call me an old man. . .I'm not a member of the gray hair club! I am young at heart!! I love to play and adventure outside. Toys are awesome. . .you can chew on them, catch them and make them make really funny sounds. Hehe. . .squeaky toys are so much fun! My all time favorite game is tug and fetch, it's a blast! I'm here looking for a new family because my mom is really sick and can't hang out with me anymore. I miss her, but my friends say that my forever home is out there. Can you help me find my forever home? Just let them know that a sweet guy is looking for a loving family. I do okay with other dogs and I love kids. Oh, and don't forget to tell them I know my manners and only potty outside.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harley, a Murphysboro Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
