Kaya's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Kaya's Story...
Kaia was found as a stray with her sister Kimi. They were taken to the county pound where the warden decided they were "too shy to be adopted" and they were scheduled to be euthanized. A wonderful lady from the pound asked if PAWS could take the sisters and give them a little time to come out of their shells. We did and it sure didn't take long! Both Kimi and Kaia are comical, outgoing young ladies who would love to have a human family of their own to grow with. They do not need to be adopted together and don't mind being separated at all. They are about 1 year old and weigh 30 pounds.

If you would like to apply to adopt this pet please visit www.ohiopoundhounds.com to review our adoption requirements and submit an application. Submitting an application does not guarantee or hold a dog, or commit you to the adoption process. All PAWS dogs are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment. We reserve the right to deny an application for any reason without explanation.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kaya, a Powell Finnish Spitz/Shiba Inu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Finnish Spitz/Shiba Inu for sale in Powell, or seeking a Finnish Spitz/Shiba Inu dog from a breeder in Powell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Powell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Powell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Finnish Spitz/Shiba Inu breeders who help with Finnish Spitz/Shiba Inu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Powell paves the way for another one to be saved.
