Please note that since TAGS is a smaller volunteer program, we are limited to adoptions within the Durham Region area. We encourage those applicants who apply outside of the area to check your local shelters and rescue programs. We are always happy to refer you to a program in your area.
Meet Chara, the epitome of a graceful, regal and loyal purebred German Shepherd. This gorgeous girl will make you laugh with her silly antics, keep you warm with her loving snuggles, and help you feel safe when you’re alone.
In keeping with the German Shepherd breed’s character; Chara trusts her handlers and the visitors she’s familiar with, but is very apprehensive about strangers. Chara is good with other animals but it’s best to monitor her interaction with them in a stressful situation, as with most dogs. Chara needs an experienced guardian who can help this anxious dog overcome her fear of strangers and new experiences.
Chara is eagerly awaiting placement in a loving, quiet and experienced adult home (permanent or foster), one where someone is home much of the time to provide the lovable Chara with the exercise and structure that she needs as well as the closeness she craves.
