Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Isabella is a gentle little girl who is just looking for someone to love and who will love her back in return. She was in a terrible mess when she first came into the shelter and her what would have been a lovely coat, had to be shaved completely down. Luckily it will grow back. She is a pretty unassuming little companion who will stay with you wherever you go and who would do well with someone that either works from home or is able to take her with them to their place of employment. Isabella is approximately 5 - 6 years old and currently weighs 13 lbs.

Isabella is very sweet and easy going. You can't help but fall in love when she looks up at you with those big eyes. She really enjoys being picked up or curling up beside you on the couch. She is a true little lap dog and wants to be with you all the time. She does get nervous when she is in strange environments and is friendly but a little shy when meeting new people.
She is a quiet and easy to care for little girl that just wants to be loved. She would be a great choice for a senior's companion. She is generally pretty low key in the home however I would say she is moderate when we get her outside and she does love going for walks.
She's very friendly but passive. She tends to hang around the owner when with other people/kids/dogs. She doesn't bark or charge towards dogs. She'll let other dogs sniff at her but makes no effort to play. She's a bit skiddish but when she's approached slowly she's fine. As long as there is an effort made on the owner's part to show her there's nothing to be scared of she will follow suit.
Isabella is generally very quiet in the home however she will growl if she hears someone in the hallway she is not used to. She'll also bark if she hears someone go by loudly on the side walk. On walks she's fine with cats and dogs, a little bit indifferent. She just has all eyes for her person and pretty much ignores most of what else is going on around her when on a walk.
She doesn't try to steal food or really have much interest in what we are eating. Doesn't chew things up. Only tries to get on the bed even though she knows she is not allowed. She seems to know 'stay' but only at times. She needs to be trained better with other commands. She is house trained but because of her size she would need to go out more often. She just needs a bit of work getting her to walk next to you without having her trip you or cross over to the other side. She is getting better day by day. She is fine in a car or on transit, you do have to carry onto the streetcar or bus and will sit on your lap.
Isabella is in constant need of human contact. She loves being outside but she does not need a lot of exercise, she gets enough exercise jumping up and down off the couch. She's not very playful so she wouldn't be able to keep up with children playing or a very active owner.
Isabella would be great in a home where there is always someone home. A retired person, or someone who works from home would be ideal. Having an outside fenced area would be great for her, so she can explore without a leash. She's very mild, sweet, and quiet so a relaxed environment is best for her.
