My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sunset Animal Rescue requires that the yard area, for this dog,is completely surrounded by a STURDY fence.
Scottie is much cuter than these pictures. Being black he just does not show up well in photographs. He has a gap in his front teeth and that makes him look, just that much cuter!
If you are looking for a bundle of love and kisses, Scottie is your boy! He has the cutest personality, never meeting a stranger. His hair is on the wirey side, but curls all down his back. Scottie has mustaches and a little beard! He is definitely a terrier and is long legged but just the right size, not too big and not too small. A great size for children. He just needs his own children!
This little black bundle of joy is living proof that no matter how badly an animal has been mistreated, they still will give unconditional love. How I wish he could talk to us and tell us just exactly what happened to him!
He has obviously belonged to someone who loved him at one time in his life. We found him abandoned, in the SC mountains, scrawny and eating bugs and who-knows-what to stay alive. We took him in the cabin and started feeding him. He was amazed at having dog food to eat, so he must have been fed only table scraps. The reason I feel he had been in a home, at some time, is that he was basically housebroken without us doing anything. As long as we let him out at normal intervals he did not have accidents.
. He always looks like he is smiling! Kisses are given freely! He is skinny, but is about 28 lbs Because of his activity level he will, most likely, always be lean. He can jump as high as a door knob from a sitting position. This is usually done when he is waiting to go outside to play. But he is not a hyper, aggravating dog, he only does his "jumpy jump" routine when he knows he is going for outside for a walk. Once the leash is on he walks beautifully.
All vaccines are up to date, he is neutered, micro-chipped. He loves to ride in the car too.
He MUST have a sturdy fence to contain him in the yard, especially since he was found wandering in the mountains! Scottie will chase outside cats & squirrels which is why he really needs a fence, because he will chase them right into the street with oncoming traffic.
.Adoption donation for Scottie is $200.00.
Is this precious boy a good fit for your family? Please email us at sunsetanimalrescue@yahoo.com and tell us to send you a questionnaire. We run the rescue out of our home, so for the safety of our human & canine family we require a completed questionnaire before you visit. This does not obligate you in any way. (or SAR)
You may call us (803) 635-4252 and leave a message, but emailing is faster. Kai F. Gunn, Executive Director, Sunset Animal Rescue Please be patient with us. We are a small group with only volunteers..
