My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Sully, and my former owner says that I kept getting out of the yard. Really and truly though, I wasn't being bad, I was just looking for something to do and for someone to love me.
Unfortunately, I just ended up getting dumped at the shelter, and that was REALLY scary. I was terrified by all the noise, so I had to stay at the far, back corner of my cage, and then duck under my bed, if anybody opened the door. No matter how scared I was though, I never tried to hurt anybody, so I got to go to a FOTA foster home, and I'm not ashamed to say that I was jumping for joy and kissing those people all over, as soon as I got to their house.
Actually, they say I can go a little overboard with joy sometimes, but that I settle down quickly and I'm really good in a kennel....except if I can hear the people in another room, but I can't see them. I guess human contact is just so important to me now, since I didn't get much in my former home. Now I just can't seem to get enough! Don't worry though, I promise I won't cause trouble if you have to kennel me while you're away from home.
However, I'm a really sociable, fun-loving guy, so I hope you'll be able to spend lots of time with me. We could go for walks together. I really love walking on leash, and even though my legs are short and I even though I weigh just 22 pounds, I've still got plenty of energy for walking, because I'm only about a year old and I'm heartworm negative, too! And I've never been to a dog park, but that also sounds like fun to me, if you want to try it.
Actually, I'm up for just about anything, even obedience classes, as long as I can be with you! My foster mom says I'll need some help with my manners anyway, since I missed out on so much in my early days. I hope you won't mind helping me make up for lost time. I'm really eager to please and clever too, if I do say so myself, so I think I'll catch on quickly to all those "good boy" things. And I promise you'll have my undying love and loyalty, if you'll just give me a second chance at happiness!
I would be super-excited to see you, so please text my foster mom at (225) 281-4638 to arrange a meeting, or just come by the FOTA Adoption House, and ask for me, Sully. I'll be waiting for you!
The Adoption House, 8476 Highland Rd., is open weekdays from 11:30 - 5:30 and weekends from 11:00 until 2:00.
All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For more information about FOTA or to make a donation, please visit http://www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org/.
